Description
About this piece
An English early 19th century carved wooden fireplace, circa 1800. More than 220 years old, the exquisite carvings of this stunning fire surround have stood the test of time, the frieze intricately carved with floral paterae and dentils above bell flower detailing along each jamb. It is an unusual shape, the jambs being slightly tapered and finishing with greek key motifs, making a unique feature of an interior.
