Description
A pair of mahogany and gilt metal jardinières/torchères, in the Louis XVI style, each with a cylindrical moulded section fitted with a removable cover which opens to reveal a lined interior for holding plants, all within an egg and dart border mounted with ram’s heads and floral swags, on tapering block supports joined by a triform stretcher and surmounted by an urn, on scroll-carved feet. French, circa 1890.
